I was born in Carrara, the city of marble and sculpture, into a family of artists. My path began by observing workshop work, breathing in stone dust and the silence of forms taking shape. After attending the Art High School and the Academy of Fine Arts, I felt the need to seek space elsewhere: in 1978, I moved to France, where I found a new creative freedom.
Sculpture is a necessity for me, not a choice. I don’t aim to represent, but to free emotions from matter. Marble, bronze, clay—each material has its time, its voice, its resistance. As I write in one of my poems, art is not a comforting oasis, but a fire that consumes, a stormy sea crashing against the rocks. It is tension, vitality, a force that stirs and transforms.
I love sculpting gesture, rhythm, breath. I seek balance not only between solids and voids, but between impulse and awareness. Each work is a journey into the mystery of space, an echo of the invisible taking form. I don’t follow a style, but an inner urgency. What guides me is the desire to give shape to what has no name, but is universally felt.
