Biography
Igor Andrianov, known as Shulman, is a contemporary Russian painter based in Prague. He is the most acclaimed living figurative artist from Eastern Europe. For Shulman, who enjoys experimenting with a variety of subject matter and painting styles, creativity is essential. He took inspiration from a variety of art movements and used pieces from several of them to construct new, wholly original works. In several of his paintings, he uses a vibrant, vivid background that strips the scene of all other elements in order to draw our attention to the subject. Shulman takes characters from everyday life and references the school of realism to create paintings that are both inventive and creative while also being highly realistic.
Igor Andrianov Shulman was born in 1959, in Russia, where he graduated from the Art College named after A.G.Venezianov. He has been living and working in Prague since 1999; he considers it as the place that inspires artists the most. Shulman has exhibited his works in galleries, museums, and international art fairs. His works are part of private collections in more than 50 countries, including the UK, USA, Canada, China, Brazil.

"Etude 221 Reflex" by Igor Shulman captures the essence of introspection and reflection beautifully. The way the artist uses oil on canvas to play with light and shadow creates an almost ethereal atmosphere.

Ungeschriebene Musik? Für mich ist der Raum voller Musik, gefüllt mit Licht, Liebe, Klängen, Melancholie; das Glück einer gefundenen Melodie, das Ringen, Kämpfen und verzweifelt Sein. Gefüllt von Leben, das vergangen ist, das auch nicht wieder kommen muss. Es war, es war intensiv, es war voll. Es war gut.
Ein wundervolles Bild, das eine ganz besondere Stimmung transportiert, welche Geschichten erzählt. Ich mag das sehr.
Unwritten music? For me, the room is full of music, filled with light, love, sounds, melancholy; the happiness of a found melody, the struggle, fighting and despair. Filled with life that has passed, that doesn't have to come back. It was, it was intense, it was full. It was good.
A wonderful picture that conveys a very special mood, that tells stories. I like it a lot.

Es wird gefeiert, die Musik ist hörbar, das Lachen, die Männer in dicken Wintermänteln, die Frauen, die auf ihrem Schoss sitzen. Der Wein fließt und der Moment wird gelebt. Egal, was morgen ist. Das ist Lebenskunst, die du in diesem außergwöhnlich stimmungsvollem Werk festgehalten hast Igor. Man sieht eine ganze - tragische - Geschichte darin, nein mehrere Geschichten und ist fasziniert davon.
Es ist so schön, wenn die Beschreibung eines Gemäldes von einem Betrachter geschrieben wird. Und es ist auch interessant, mein Verständnis mit deinem zu vergleichen. In einigen Punkten stimmen wir definitiv überein).
