Our regular daily life is a diverse mix of different feelings and emotions.
Love, joy, desire, sadness and many others - all of them I try to catch and then express through colors and balanced harmonious forms. I use a palette knife and try to capture them in fast large strokes so I do not lose the feelings and visions they have brought. I never plan ahead color variations and shades and I do not sketch faces since sketches are useless with very thick layers of paint.
For me, these paintings are live spontaneous process and clean improvisation.

There will be 12 of them, one each month and in each one there will be a part of the message that can be read by studying the whole series. For inspiration, I go as far away from civilization as possible and stay alone, wrapped in the light of the moon and the stars. It gives an opportunity to investigate and view an artwork "from the inside". I have not come up with a name for this style yet.

Biography
Svetlana Tikhonova, alias Lana Frey, is a contemporary Czech painter. She explores the wide mix of feelings we experience and transforms them into interesting portrait and landscape work, inspired by history, mythology, and legends but mostly focusing on human emotions.
Lana Frey was born in 1974, in Czechia. She has participated in exhibitions in Japan, Poland, Italy, France, UK and the USA.

The fifth edition of the popular art sales fair Umschlagplatz takes place for the first time in the porcelain factory of Goebel & Kaiser.
The formula for the success of the Umschlagplatz art sales fair can actually be summed up quite simply. A considerable number of artists from all over Germany and the nearby region, more than forty to be exact, will be showing their art up close and offering it for sale on September 25 and 26 on the premises of Kaiser & Goebel Porzellan in Bad Staffelstein. Then you can stroll around again, see, marvel, and, if necessary, negotiate directly with the artist about the price without any intermediate fee.

Live painting at a vernissage in Paris, at Carre d'Artistes gallery. A thrilling and inspiring experience,. This artwork is very special to me - it was the first time in my life I went painting live, on the public, inside the gallery in Paris. Thrilling, inspiring, scary, exciting - all at the same time. This fantasy woman's emotion was not planned, the character has born completely spontaneously and since then exists only on this canvas.

Hi Lana - I happened upon this work when wanting to edit some of my own work. Since I have a huge amount of works in my portfolio, the fastest way to get to my works was to search Artmajeur for the title, "Spirit Lion" and when I did so, you work "Lion Spirit" also came up. And although it is very different from my Spirit Lion works, they have some very distinct similarities - the both do capture, for me at least, the spirit of a lion!! So I have added you work to my favorites collection - Congratulations, a very fine work!
