Biography
My background has mainly been in music , i was a freelance trumpet player mainly working on the cruise ships and seeing the world - After living in my sisters garage for over 10 years -suffering for ones art ! i recently took a trip to a friend who had just moved to Sicily and loved the light and countryside so as if by chance i found a place i could actually afford to own ! so now I'm living in a a small mountain village around 25 miles from Syracuse in south east Sicily .Its a little of a struggle not knowing the language - but i hope to get better ...Unfortunately things didnt work out in Sicily-now back in the UK
Art has always been my other passion, it wasn't long ago i decided to make a go of selling my Art . I've got a pretty good reaction, and so I continue to paint and always will.
Painting is such a love for me and I try to be honest to it , but it is always a battle between the eye and the heart with hope that a truth lies within .
I hope you enjoy some of my efforts.

My background has mainly been in music , i am a freelance trumpet player living in London,but Art has always been there has my other passion, it was;nt long ago i decided to make a go of selling my Art, and i got a pretty good positive reaction, but over the last year or so , I have started to mainly concentrating on my music career.
Art is such a personal thing for me , that if I wanted to sell my work , i found it too great a hurt when i could;nt, so now I will paint when my mood takes me , and I have no pressure from myself .

It's a cat doing what cats do, but get past that if you need to, to appreciate the brilliance of this painting. Always a master of a Mondrian-ish Expressionism this work by Taylor epitomizes his gift for balancing competing elements in color, design, subject and narrative. This is why I am a fan of this artist's work.
I'm only one of the 170 people following Taylor on this site. Because i do, I get a steady stream of new delights popping up on this website. He has a sense of design and color and a reduction of form to its symbolic essentials that I wish I had the talent to imitate, (and I've tried, many times). I see his work as the equal of Picasso's during my favorite period in his career ... but I think Taylor's work is much better.
This is a good example of what I consider his best achievements, though I suspect the best may be yet to come. When I say, "best", I want to make clear, just about everything he does is excellent, just some are even more excellent than others.

Just went through the first 8 or 9 pages of Simon's art and saved a bunch of them. But I could have saved them all. This guy does great work. I am so impressed!
I love these. There are too many I love to pick out any one for praise, so I picked the first one I saw, but they are almost uniformly excellent.

Your painting is really beautiful; I know that painters do not like to be compared to other painters, but your painting reminds me of Matisse. In any case, I do like your style and this original creation is really wonderful … such as your "girl with cat and flowers" in my living-room ;-) Congratulations !
