In autumn 1986, based on plein air sketches made in the suburbs of Odessa created black and white and color versions of the composition "Flying". This work marked the beginning of a large cycle, carried out in various materials and techniques later United by a common name. In 1994, in Moscow, in the halls of the Central house of artists held a major art project "Salvador Dali and Russian artists of the mystical direction", in which was presented a detailed exposition of the main works of the cycle. Work on the compositions began in 2017 by order of one of the Moscow banks and lasted until 2023. By 2018, the composition “Ichthys“ (Water) was completed and then the cycle included the panels “Ouroboros“ (Earth), “Phoenix" (Air),“Glow“ (Fire) and the composition “Immortality" (Ether). Five decorative panels, according to the author's idea, should figuratively visualize and combine the philosophical definitions of the elements of Water, Earth, Fire, Air, Ether. For two years, from 2020 to 2022, work on the three-part panel “Garden of Eden“ lasted and in 2023 work on the triptych “Wings“ was completed. During the work on the cycle, the author's repetitions of each panel were made specifically for placement in the permanent exhibition of the Nikolai Sednin House Museum.

The cycle of heliographic landscape compositions is based on materials and impressions from Nikolai Sednin's trips to the Moscow region and Vologda in 2024-2025.
Heliographycs (Greek helios — the sun and others - Greek γρόφική "written"; from γράφω "I write, I write") is a field of visual art founded in 2006 by Russian artist Nikolai Sednin. Heliographics images are organically suitable for decorating residential and public interiors, for creating monumental facade panels, bas-reliefs, street art, graffiti, spray art. The main idea and purpose of heliographycs is to create symbolic images that are close to iconic and represent space and form in a non-inverted and generalized form, free from detail. The main difference between heliographycs is the partial or complete absence of transitional semitones with color saturation or contrast of tonal combinations. This is an author's variation of the printing technique, using black-and-white or colored lines, strokes, spots and dots as the main visual means to create and distribute images on any surface suitable for printing.

The cycle is an allegorical depiction of girls and birds, equally unsuccessfully seeking to escape from the confined space. The figures are trying to" live " their territory. Symbolic framing turns each composition into a kind of box with additional compartments, which creates the illusion of comfort in space. The Cycle Of “Di-Art“. 1993-2018. Dee-Art (Greek. dis—, double -, art — art) is a postmodern art movement, founded by Nikolai Sednin in 1994. The most important component of "Di-Art" is not a certain stylist, but the positivity of the artists ' perception of the surrounding reality. In 1993, the author was interested in the specifics of the appearance of visual images in adults with uncontrolled psyche, which led to the idea of creating a creative group in a specialized institution. In 1994 Nikolai Sednin volunteer organized in psycho-neurological boarding school № 20 Moscow art Studio called "Healing art". In the process of training he created the basic principles and practical method of the program for the rehabilitation of the psyche. The result of creative activity was the opening in 1999 of the art gallery, the most fully representing the works of painting and drawing from among those created in the Studio "Healing art". In 2000, thanks to the constant updating of the collection of works, the Studio received wide publicity in the media and drew the attention of the Russian Association of art Historians. Since the author's technique and style of the works was recognized as individual and non-standard, there was a need to determine the artistic direction. Thus was born the term "Di-Art". "People's lives remain in letters." In 1993, working as the chief artist of one of the central newspapers of Kiev, Nikolay Sednin received an order to develop a fundamentally new font design of this newspaper. Studying the history and symbolism of the ancient Slavs, the artist creates images of the Russian alphabet based on one of the oldest variants of the trident - the nominal sign of the ancient Russian princes Rurikovich. Turning the ancient symbol at different angles, or mirroring its individual parts, the artist created the capital letters of the alphabet and a decorative frieze to decorate each letter. The project presented by the editor-in-chief of the newspaper at a meeting of the city Council of deputies causes a scandal, the artist is accused of pro-Russian sentiments and dismissed from office.
Nikolay Sednin returns to the project a few years later, during the period of studying sacred symbols, emblems, petroglyphs and art of the ancient peoples of Europe, India and the East. Each letter of the alphabet is formed into a separate composition with erotic symbols of male and female principles. In 1996, Versia Publishing house published a collector's edition of the book “ABC for Two“, which also includes sketches for the cycle. Николай Седнин — художник, писатель, фотохудожник, искусствовед, общественный деятель. Почетный деятель искусств России, Доктор искусствоведения, профессор.
С 1984 года художник создал более 1000 картин, рисунков, скульптур и фотографий, многие из которых вошли в российские и зарубежные музейно-галерейные собрания. В 2018 году в России открылся Дом-музей Николая Седнина.
Академик и Почетный президент Международной академии современных искусств (с 2019 года). Председатель Профессионального союза художников России (с 2020 г.), Председатель редколлегии международной премии «ЭЛИТАРХ» (с 2013 г.), Председатель жюри международного конкурса «Искусство. Совершенство. Признание». (с 2015 г.), Почетный деятель искусств России (с 2016 г.), Советник Председателя Московской организации Союза писателей России (с 2016 г.), Доктор искусствоведения, профессор (с 2020 г.)
Николай Седнин является основателем направления «Ди-Арт» (с 2000 года) и основателем авторского стиля «Гелиографика» (с 2006 года). Участник более 100 международных выставок и конкурсов. Многократный победитель крупнейших мировых конкурсов визуального искусства, обладатель всемирного фотографического «Оскара» (Super Circuit-2012).
В 2012 году Николай Седнин вошел в международный проект «Величайшие художники мира XVIII-XXI веков» по версии справочника «Единый художественный рейтинг».

Cycle "Watercolor". 1984-1987 watercolor compositions of Nikolai Sednin were made at the age of 14-16 years. The cycle began in 1984 in Leningrad illustrations for the novel by guy De Maupassant “Dear friend“.Work on the cycle was continued in Odessa in 1985-87 with a series of landscapes and portraits.

The author's bas-reliefs of Nikolai Sednin were made in Moscow to decorate the interiors of the Central offices of large Russian and international companies. The motives for the bas-reliefs were the drawings chosen by the customers from the cycle “Compositions“.

The Cycle Of “Architecture“. 1993-2017. the Graphic module named by the artist “Archicon“ was developed in 1992-93 on the basis of the study of the sacred geometry of ancient cultures, as divine proportionality, in the geometric interpretation of the cosmos. For 20 years, in different years, the cycle included sculptural collages, architectural, graphic and font compositions.

Cycle “One line Drawings“. 1989-1994. The cycle is based on the idea of the most accurate transmission of human images using the line. All drawings were made from life ink or ink on paper, sometimes with a brush. A characteristic feature of many drawings of this cycle is the linear transmission of forms and chiaroscuro. Models for the artist were friends with whom Nikolai Sednin met and talked during his work in Odessa. Later the cycle was continued in Riga and Moscow. In 1996 in Odessa publishing house “Version“ there was a book “Drawings by one line“ in which about 40 works of the author are presented.

The series "Improvisations on patterns". 1995-1998. Significance of this cycle is a plastic game, invented by the artist - the whole cycle performed on patterns for sewing fashion apparel of the popular magazine "Burda". Over the lines of magazine patterns Nikolai Sednin creates spaces and images organically intertwined. The cycle of "Improvisation on patterns" actually was a harbinger of the main discovery of the artist - the cycle of "Di Art". In 1996 compositions from the cycle were included in the catalogue of the exhibition “Nikolay.Sednin. State Tretyakov gallery.”

In the autumn of 1986, based on plein air sketches created black and white and color versions of the composition “Flying“. This work marked the beginning of a large cycle, carried out in various materials and techniques later United by a common name. Cycle “Portraits“. 1998-2018. Work on commissioned portraits started after the artist moved to Moscow. In 2000, Nikolai Sednin - the author of the first portrait of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. During the following years, the artist carries out orders for portraits of famous figures of politics, business and culture, gets acquainted with the President of the Fund for support of social educational and cultural programs "Arden" Tatiana Panich, French film actor Pierre Richard, People's artist of Russia Vladimir Etush, an outstanding fashion designer Pierre Cardin, President of the world Association of women entrepreneurs Leila Hayat. In 2002, the State Duma of the Russian Federation works from the series "Portraits" are presented in the project "Di Art — art of the XXI century." In 2012, the portrait of Vladimir Etush "the Great Illusionist" is exhibited in the international art project VIP gallery "Arden" Masterpieces of the future and the present. THE CYCLE OF "COMOTION".
Photographing a naked model in the multi-exposure mode is made in Moscow, in the artist's photo Studio as an experiment, which the author does not attach importance to for a long time. A few years later, looking through the archives, the artist collects previously filmed material and exhibits as a separate cycle to decorate the interiors of several clubs in Moscow. In 2011, the compositions from the series " Promotion "were awarded a special prize of the international salon FIAF" XVI INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION", San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy.

CYCLE "CELL".
"A bird in a cage, a soul in a body, a man in a room."
In the summer of 2003, the "Cage" cycle was started in a specially prepared room for filming. The cycle is an allegorical depiction of girls and birds, equally unsuccessfully seeking to escape from the confined space. The figures are trying to" live " their territory. Symbolic framing turns each composition into a kind of box with additional compartments, which creates the illusion of comfort in space. At the core of the multi-loop collages, creating the illusion of the microcosm. Appears Central character — the Master Cells that operate sacred pentagrams and based on them invisibly building a new space for the already familiar characters. The image of the door indicates a possible transition to a new dimension, another reality left behind the scenes. In this cycle, the law of gravity and the usual appearance of the figures lose their importance, giving way to the "intracellular" order.
People are no longer prisoners of these walls.In 2011 in Paris, at the largest in Europe competition "PX3 PRIX DE LA PHOTOGRAPHIE PARIS" photo compositions from the cycle "Cage" were awarded two gold medals in the categories "Fine Art/Nudes — Professional" and "People's Choice Awards". In 2012, works from this series were awarded the gold medal of gold Medal of Excellence "Trierenberg Super Circuit" at the competition of the world photographic "Oscar".

CYCLE "TIES".
Since 2002, the artist is passionate about erotic subculture and has been actively involved in the formation and development of the community in Moscow and Russia. As the author of the direction"Di-Art" and methods of rehabilitation of the psyche in the process of creativity, Nikolai Sednin seeks to enrich his psychotherapeutic experience with new knowledge about the hidden creative possibilities, considering the erotic subculture as part of the ancient Eastern, Slavic and European practices leading to psychophysiological evolution in the development of personality. Cycle "Ties" - the most ambiguous and provocative photo project of the artist, in which the erotic subculture is declared as hidden from prying eyes art for a few favorites. In 2009 in new York there is a detailed essay of the writer, artist and literary critic Andrey Tsers "The principle of the pyramid of Sednin" devoted to the cycle "Ties".

THE CYCLE OF "COCOON".
Work on the photo project started in Moscow as the author's idea of an international advertising campaign for a supplier of European fabrics. Later the order developed into a large series of photographic composition "Cocoon»,work on which was continued as a creative project.In 2003 compositions from this series were published in the annual catalogue of the best samples of photo art of the Moscow publishing house "Index Design and Publishing". In 2005, the composition of the series was awarded the silver medal of the international contest "Magic of Photo" in Russia. In 2008, several songs from the series became winners of the international project "Photokonkurs" in Israel. In 2010, the composition of the Cocoon series " became the winner of the international photo contest magazine "Cleo" in the category "Nude". In the same year, the compositions from this series become laureates of the international project "Photoawards".

THE CYCLE OF "WEIRD SISTERS".
