Original Artwork refers to any work that is considered authentic and not a copy or imitation of the original works of an artist. Original artwork can be any type of painting, sculpture, performance, or other media. There are many types of original media. Mixed media includes oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings. For workshop paintings that bear evidence of master craftsmanship, this attribution must be further qualified. Silvia Benfenati

Italy

Silvia Benfenati is a versatile artist whose artistic journey began in Bologna, Italy. After finishing her studies at the artistic high school, she continued her training at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna, where she took the scenography course. It was in this historic setting of the Accademia Clementina that she acquired the foundations of her artistic expression.

Following her studies in scenography, Silvia collaborated with several theater groups in Bologna, participating in the design and creation of sets and costumes for productions such as "il teatro del guerrero", "il carro e la maschera” and “il teatro del bigatto”.

Subsequently, she explored various artistic fields, working as an illustrator, designer of toys for the industry, and artistic director in ceramic decoration workshops. Her career also led her to become a secondary school art teacher, a profession that allows her to transmit her passion for art while continuing to develop her personal artistic work.

Silvia Benfenati's work is eclectic and diverse, nourished by a constant curiosity which leads her to experiment with different artistic techniques. She expresses herself through polymaterial collage, photography, watercolor, oil, pastels, tempera, inks, decorative murals and especially ceramics, a technique that has deeply captivated her in recent years for its inexhaustible expressive potential.
