Sabrine Trabelsi is a contemporary Tunisian painter. Through representation and fiction, she creates stagings that reveal emotions through one or more characters accompanied by symbolic objects or symbols. In fact, the impact of many artistic currents like symbolism and surrealism on her works helps to update the definition of her field.
By combining different codes and information from both popular culture and so-called erudite culture, she is able to create hybrid representations that are sometimes realistic and other times abstract thanks to these narrative processes and the mixed technique.
Finally, these stagings provide the artist the chance to suggest alternative forms of representation in order to challenge the conventions and prevailing beliefs by creating a circulatory relationship between the sensitive and the understandable inherent to the artistic discipline.
Sabrine Trabelsi was born in 1979, in Tunisia, where she received her Master's Degree in Plastic Art.
