Nickolai Chebotaru was born in 1948 to a peasant’s family in Odessa , Ukraine.
At aged 24 he entered the Odessa Art College and left with honours. Working as a teacher at Moldova Art School he was teaching children and gaining experience sharpening his creative skills. There he was invited to exhibit his work and he proved himself to be a talented artist.
In 1979 Nickolai moved to Sevastopol. But Nickolai’s real creative life began from 1987 when he started to work at the famed Sevastopol Artists Union.
Nikolai’s painting is impressionistic. He works in different styles: landscape, portrait and still life. He has outstanding composition skills and innovatative colour creation. His works display a fusion of naturalistic light and shimmering colour.
Nickolai has spatial awareness , he perpetuates the shaky deciduous power of being. Pure painting celebrates in his still life canvasses: here the content becomes background only still life gives pure artistic pleasure . Enjoy if you will !
