This sculpture arose from his thinking and love for greek classical sculpture. He made it in terracotta because this material is used from ancient times to the present. He endeavored to show the connection between ancient sculpture and archeology and he want to raise a hundred questions in the eye of the beholder.

Marko Grgat is a contemporary Croatian sculptor. Grgat's clay and terracotta sculptures came from his passion for Greek classical sculpture. Those materials were used since ancient times and are still used today. In recent years, the artist has been studying the human torso as the main artistic medium, which serves for centuries as an artistic metaphor for the deepest spiritual and emotional qualities we want to share with mankind.

Marko Grgat was born in 1990, in Split, Croatia, where he graduated at School of Design, Graphics and Sustainable Construction in Split, majoring in Interior Architect Designer and after that received a master's degree in sculpture at the Academy of Arts in Split. He is the author of several public sculptures, has participated in two international sculptural residencies, held two solo exhibitions, and participated in several group exhibitions.
