Vincent DUMOLARD (1929 - 2010) showed very early an interest for art. He studied at the Beaux-Arts School in Toulouse, and then at the Métiers d'Arts School in Paris. He began painting at the age of 30.
Mostly a figurative art painter, he started with oil painting, but found his way with watercolor, which reflected better his sensibility. He always painted from life, expressing therefore his feelings about the atmosphere, and establishing an immediate relation between the environment and his work in progress. His painting is altogether instantaneous, quiet and peaceful.
All along his private or professional trips, he delivered a graphic, precise and colorful road book, filled with many subtle atmospheres. Countryside, mountains, old buildings and farms, towns and villages, charming boats and harbors were all inspiration for him. He caught their soul which he transposed on paper with infinite delicacy. Each one of his watercolors describes a past whose real beauty we sometimes do not see any more.

Vincent DUMOLARD took part in many collective painting exhibits in and around Paris (Indépendants, Artistes Français, Rueil-Malmaison, Sèvres, Garches, Cormeilles-en-Parisis, Chatou, L'Isle-Adam, Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, Chaville, La Frette-sur-Seine, Taverny, Pontoise, Vanves, Clamart…) where he won prizes several times. He also set up individual exhibits in Paris and in provincial towns such as Cassis, Lyon, Castelnaudary, Gimont, Viviers, Tresserve…

His paintings are now displayed by his daughter, Fabienne PORT.
