Maria Skrebtsova

Maria Skrebtsova is a young Russian artist, a poet and an accomplished children's writer. She has completed over 150 paintings in oil and pencil. Born in 1968 in Moscow, Russia. She completed The Moscow State Linguistic University (Moris Toresa) course. By specialisation Maria is an educator and translator from and into French and English. She is the author of numerous children's books and poetry. Her books are in publication since 1991. Art by the eyes of a soul ART is a spiritual reflection of our reality. This reflection can be conveyed not only via lofty words, but by means of colours as well. It is not essential that it should be an abstract art form; it can be a portrait, a landscape or still-life. It is most essential that in his/her work the state of the artists soul be represented. My paintings are by themselves a representation of the inspirational (loftiness) state of a soul as expressed in colour. They convey a feeling of warmth and fill the space around us with light and spirit. I am humbly presenting these artworks with the hope that they will bring more ‘LIGHT' into our world. How the paintings are born… There comes a time in life when words are not enough to express the astonishment one has before the Ultimate Beauty that has been created by God. A time when a person needs to exceed the borders of words, a time when paintings can do more justice to this immense, wonderful feeling. The Divine Love - is the very essence and core of our world and everything in it. These paintings are a symbol of the worship of human souls before The All-Embracing Power of Divine Love. My works are dedicated to everyone - to those who can feel its presence and to those that cannot. It is dedicated to those inclined, in our daily rush, to forget about the Divine Love. My work is also for all those who feel they are loosing this Love. Therefore, my dedication is not only to those who appreciate it, or to all those believing in it, but to all, everyone.… who need it! Magic touch of inspiration.
