Male nudity was celebrated in ancient Greece to a greater degree than any culture before or since. They considered embarrassment at having to disrobe for sports a sign of barbarism. The status of freedom, maleness, privilege, and physical virtues were asserted by discarding everyday clothing for athletic nudity. With the association of the naked body with the beauty and power of the gods, nudity became a ritual costume.

Yaroslav Sobol è un pittore ucraino esperto con visibilità internazionale. Con una formazione formale in scultura e pittura, cerca di combinare il focus classico della sua formazione con tecniche e approcci moderni. Nei suoi dipinti ad olio, Sobol trasmette il mondo interiore dei suoi personaggi, così come le loro interazioni con il mondo che li circonda. Nel 1988-1992 ha studiato al Kharkiv State Art College (Ucraina) nel dipartimento di scultura. Laureato con lode.
Nel 1992 è stato ammesso all'Istituto di Belle Arti e Industriali di Kharkiv (ora Accademia di Design e Arti di Kharkiv) (Ucraina) senza esami di ammissione, avendo vinto il concorso tra i diplomati della Kharkiv State Art Università. Ha studiato presso il dipartimento di “Scultura”. Nel 1997 si è diplomato all'istituto con il massimo dei voti.
Vince il concorso tra gli studenti dell'istituto per la formazione in Germania. Boris (Bob) Mikhailov e Sergey Bratkov erano tra i membri della giuria. Nel 1997 si forma all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Norimberga (Germania).
