Yakinikou is a contemporary painter based in Chartres, France. Her artistic journey began in 2006, and since then, she has been fully immersed in the world of painting and artistic expression. Born and raised in Barcelona, Yakinikou spent a significant portion of her youth in this vibrant city before spending ten months in the UK. Her extensive travels and exposure to different cultures have deeply influenced her artistic style.

Since 1992, Yakinikou has frequented workshops of painters and sculptors, enriching her understanding of gestures, smells, and textures, driven by a desire to create the unspeakable. She honed her skills through drawing courses in Barcelona and later at the Academy of Toulouse and Antibes, studying under Hao with Him.

Academically, Yakinikou holds a degree in Communication and Public Relations. Her thesis, titled "What Public Relations for Little Known or Unknown Visual Artists," reflects her dedication to supporting emerging artists. She has worked in various professions both in France and abroad, adding to her diverse background. Additionally, she has trained in the art trade, further broadening her expertise.

Yakinikou's initial artistic expressions in 1995 were characterized by the use of black sandpaper, followed by oil on paper and mixed media. She continued her pictorial exploration with oil on marble dust and plaster, incorporating various materials. Today, she primarily works with oil on canvas, preparing her canvases with flax, skin glue, and white Spain, and crafting her own colors. She also explores other surfaces such as wood, aluminum, and slate, and creates works on paper using materials like old newspapers and tissue paper.

Her work began to gain public attention in 2000, with a group exhibition at Les Halles in Paris, followed by numerous exhibitions across France and Europe. Some of her notable exhibitions include the Hotel Anne Pisseleu in Etampes, the Cultural Center of the Fluke, the Bellini Gallery in Chartres, the Castle Barrier Kit Exhibition Centre in Briare, the Priory St Vincent in Chartres, and the Cultural Center The Visitation in Perigueux. She has also exhibited internationally at the Gallery Kulturgut in Bochum, Germany.

Yakinikou's works are part of both institutional and private collections. In 2007, her piece "Memory" was acquired by the FDAC Dordogne (Department Fund for Contemporary Art). Her artworks are also held in private collections in France, Germany, Holland, and Spain.

Yakinikou continues to captivate audiences with her dynamic and textured approach to contemporary painting, blending her diverse experiences and profound artistic sensibilities into each piece she creates.
