Vincenzo Marino is a contemporary Italian artist born in Naples in the late 1960s. He moved to Genoa at an early age, where he currently resides. From a young age, Vincenzo was passionate about drawing, a passion he pursued with near-obsessive dedication. He initially explored the fields of comics and caricatures, working with pencils and watercolors.
In the late 1990s, Vincenzo shifted his focus to digital art, experimenting with web graphics and creating digital compositions. However, in the early 2000s, an encounter with an art teacher inspired him to explore oil painting. With this mentor's encouragement, Vincenzo began participating in collective exhibitions and showing his work in a small gallery in western Liguria.
As his artistic journey progressed, Vincenzo developed an interest in surrealism, using his art to explore the moral and ecological contradictions of society. Through his surreal works, he aims to challenge prejudices and provoke reflection in those who view his canvases, striving to encourage deeper thought about the world around us.
