"Classe '66, milanese di nascita e veronese di adozione, Franco Tempesta si diploma illustratore e fumettista nel 1988, collaborando poi come free lance con le maggiori case editrici nazionali ed estere oltre a importanti agenzie di pubblicità nazionali.
Dodici anni fa la "sconcertante necessità" di percorrere un nuovo cammino artistico, svincolato da esigenze di mercato e committenze varie, così incombenti nel settore dell''illustrazione.
Da qui i primi quadri, inizialmente ancora ancorati ai clichè ed i virtuosismi pittorici dell' iperrealismo.
La ricerca verso l'essenzialità e l'istintività lo porta dapprima ad eliminare la prospettiva ed il manierismo calligrafico, e successivamente a evolvere in una sorta di simbolismo dell'immagine e del colore.
Il colore diventa quindi il grande protagonista dei sui quadri, puro,senza sfumature e compromessi, immediato, con un incredibile forza che coinvolge e sconvolge.
La continua sperimentazione di tecniche e materiali lo porta a cimentarsi con la scultura, utilizzando materiali quali il legno, il cartone e il ferro, tutti rigorosamente reciclati.
