Tamas Podhraczky is a contemporary Hungarian sculptor based in Italy. Tamas's artistic odyssey commenced as a stone carver at the Szeged Art Institute, where he meticulously honed the fundamentals of sculpture and drawing. This foundational period set the stage for his lifelong journey into the world of artistry.

In 2001, Tamas embarked on a new chapter in his artistic education, enrolling at the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest under the tutelage of the esteemed sculptor Gyorgy Jovanovics. It was during this pivotal period that he began to explore various materials and artistic directions, delving into the realms of abstraction and constructivism. Despite these forays, Tamas's primary fascination remained firmly anchored in the representation of the human figure, a passion that would eventually lead him to earn the prestigious Barcsay Prize in human anatomy in 2004.

Following the completion of his academic diploma, Tamas Podhraczky embarked on a multifaceted career that encompassed both traditional sculpting and exciting ventures into the world of special effects. In 2006, he commenced work as a sculptor for film and theater sets, where his creativity flourished in the realm of imaginative production design. Simultaneously, he explored the art of prosthetic makeup, contributing his skills to the cinematic and theatrical worlds.

Notable highlights of his career include working as a prop maker for Guillermo del Toro's captivating film "Hellboy II: The Golden Army" in 2007 and serving as part of the makeup artist team for Marc Forster's epic "World War Z" in 2011.

Alongside commissioned work, spanning private clients and the advertising industry, Tamas began crafting miniatures and small-scale figures, imbuing them with humor and irony that spoke to his unique artistic perspective.

In 2018, Tamas relocated to Italy, where his artistic journey underwent a transformation. He returned to a more classic and traditional style, melding it seamlessly with his personal stylistic approach. Furthermore, he shifted his focus to the use of natural materials such as clay and plaster, aligning with a commitment to sustainability and environmental respect.

His artistic prowess found expression in various exhibitions, with notable mentions including his terracotta sculpture of Diabolik showcased at the "DDD - DamnDaringDiabolik" event in Forlì, Italy, in September 2020. Additionally, his work "The Builder" was featured at the Tecnopolo in Reggio Emilia during the Artifestival, the city's inaugural arts festival, organized by the L’Artificio Association in October 2020.
