ho sempre preferito quei locali il cui aspetto semi elegante, spaziosi, e luminosi, ti dichiarano subito di
accettare clienti di qualsiasi età, fossero anche bambini o coppie ottuagenarie. Sono quelle sale da
veglione con valzer, polka e mazurca che balli, se sai ballare, negli intermezzi della cena, servita apposta
lentamente e consumata con brindisi e dediche da un tavolo all'altro.
Eppure, anche in quei locali, nell'età in cui non ti ponevi tanti pensieri, un inspiegabile turbamento mi
opprimeva la cui colpa, per un imbecille pudore, non attribuivo al vero responsabile e cioè all'amore. Io,
come tutti, ero perennemente innamorato e, stupidamente, temevo sempre di far brutta figura, sia seduto,
sia in piedi, figuratevi ballando; me ne stavo in un angolo come un baccalà, magari guardando gelosamente
la amata del momento condurre, cantando e sculettando, il solito lungo trenino di festaioli in giro per la
sala.
Ancora peggiore il mio rapporto con le discoteche: scatole buie, nelle quali coll’assordante musica e luci
accecanti, si nascondono le magagne di divani sporchi e sdruciti; pavimenti consumati alla meglio
rappezzati, cose che soltanto alla luce del giorno puoi vedere e, avendole viste parecchie volte, sempre mi
hanno ricordato l’aspetto mattutino di mature signore prima del recupero architettonico del corpo
mediante intonaci e tiranti.
