Partly figurative, partly abstract, Sophia Kühn impressively captures the mood of the coast in her paintings and casts a spell over the viewer. She paints landscapes with wide horizons in which one can no longer distinguish where one element ends and the other begins. Plus figures, people who lose themselves in this vastness.

I rediscovered my love for painting after a break of over twenty years, like many people I came to a point in my life where I knew there was more.
The French Atlatnik coast is a constant companion in my life, I spend almost a quarter of the year there, observing, photographing, painting and discovering new things. The wide horizon, sea, sky, tides, colors, light: I find the constant changes very inspiring. I am overwhelmed by the beauty of the coastal environment. In my pictures, however, I also show my inner being. With some of the motifs you feel far removed from everything, with others in the middle of the action. Sometimes happy, sometimes angry, sometimes melancholy.
My works are accessible to everyone at many exhibitions, in my showroom in Herne and online as NFT. Some of the pictures are privately owned.
