Most of my paintings are done in a mono-print style. I start out with my 15x20 beveled sheet of glass mounted on a board. I clean the glass first with turpentine. I then, using a rage, spread a thin layer of good linseed oil on the sheet of glass. Once that is done I am free to start painting. I use only good oils. Most are American but some are English or French. The glass is a wonderful surface to paint on because of lack of tooth. The brush can glide freely. This really allows for freedom of gesture. Once I feel the image can be improved no further the printing begins. This process is simply misting the painted surface with turpentine, some times cut with linseed oil, with an atomizer. You want to evenly coat the surface. This allows the paint that is beginning to tack up to replastisize. This can take from one to fifteen minutes. I then take a sheet of vellum or heavy 80 Pound paper and lay it on the surface by hand and a bit of luck. Then, depending on the image, I rub the back of the paper to get good contact but try not to make it run. It then has to sit for five to twenty minutes to allow the excess turpentine to dry. The paper is then lifted off by a corner carefully. At this point I have a decision to make. Is the image complete or does it need more paint or highlights or lowlights. If so I usually paint it immediately but occasionally wait for it to dry and then add paint. Then I start on the next of the series. There is always a ghost image left on the glass. Sometimes if I have oiled first well there is little and some times there is much. I take that ghost and try to break it down to color and mass alone. The image always becomes more abstract. My series run from one to eight with the usual being three. I have been in the arts since youth. I have lived off them for years as a photographer. I never made it big, no fucking good at the self promotion game.
Have been painting for only 8 yrs but if you have an eye you have an eye.
I hope you either like my stuff or are repulsed by it. Even if you think it boring I hope it is incredibly boring. It should elicit something.
I do studies of color mass line symmetry of balance or if the case might be, imbalance.
If you are looking for realism look at my Photo prints, good archival stuff. I love the intensity of color and if I start painting trees just shoot my ass.

Old fashion in that I like 2D images.

Received an award for map making in the 6th grade. I will do a great retro print of it. To believe I have had suck accomplishments stagger me.
