Thirty years ago, the art world looked different, and even more so in the country that we knew as the USSR. Any dissent in art other than the propaganda of socialist realism ideas was suppressed in every possible way, and dissenting authors were sent either to psychiatric institutions hospitals, or to leave the country, which at that time it was still necessary to earn in front of people in uniform who protect the socialist " unanimity” and understand that it is easier to let go than to alarm the world community. But in ' 89, there was already a sense of great changes in the country and, therefore, there was a chance to create new works without devastating consequences for the authors. In the worst case, the artist could be excluded from the Komsomol or from the UNIVERSITY where he studied, which actually happened to the author of this composition.

From 1984 to 2019, the artist created more than 1000 paintings, drawings, sculptures, and photographs, many of which were included in Russian and foreign Museum and gallery collections. In 2018, the House Museum of Nikolai Sednin was opened in Russia.

He is the Honorary President of the International Academy of contemporary arts (since 2019). Chairman of the Artists Trade union of Russia (since 2020), Chairman of the Editorial Board of the international prize "ELITARCH" (since 2013), Chairman of the jury of the international competition "Art. Excellence. Awards." (since 2015), Honorary worker of arts of Russia (since 2016), Advisor to the Chairman of the Moscow organization of the Union of writers of Russia (since 2016), Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (since 2017)

He is also the founder of “Dee-Art” (since 2000). The founder of the author's style "Geliographycs" (since 2006). Participated in more than 100 international exhibitions and competitions.
