Fátima Sardinha was born in 1975, in Faro, Portugal. She started painting early, at the age of 14 in a Painting Club at Basic School. After, was a student of Arts during three years at the Secondary School. There, for the first time, she started doing oil painting with her teacher, the painter Rosa Trindade. Since then, oil painting has been her favourite painting material. She continued painting all her life as a hobby, and made some local exhibitions near Porto where she lives. In 2018 she decided to return to painting and invest seriously in her passion since early age having created more than 100 works since then. In 2019 she founded the Screaming Art Group, an international group with 59 artists from 27 countries, one US curator and two psychologists, engaging in sharing experiences, in art therapy and in exhibitions.

She is a self-taught artist that expresses her feelings and experiences of life by color, movement and texture in an abstract way. She does mainly pure oil paintings with large and medium sizes. She uses the integration of different arts, like music and poetry with her painting has a way to enrich the work, the feelings and the sensations the observer can achieve. This way, the painting is an active piece that should interact with the spectator transmitting different sensations and feelings to each one. Significant amount of the produced artworks were made using impasto technique which, through painting-knife strokes, allows to create breathtaking textures in all the paintings. She mainly uses pure oil as her favourite painting material without the use of almost any mediums. She expresses her feelings through an emotional intuitive painting. Acrylic, sand pasta, oil pastel, Indian ink, watercolour, glitter or the incorporation of leds, are just some of the additional materials used in the artworks. She translates the music being listened while painting into the canvas creating a high rhythm expressed by the repetition of some art elements and by the constant movement of the strokes. Color, movement and texture in abstract are trademarks of the artist, independently of how many times she re-invents herself…
