Sandrk

Stjepan Šandrk is a prominent figure in Croatian contemporary art, renowned for his hyperrealistic paintings that explore how culture and art are experienced in today's social media-saturated society. Born in Osijek in 1984, Šandrk graduated with a degree in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 2006 and completed a PhD in Art at the same institution in 2015.

Šandrk's work is characterized by a distinctive painterly precision, meticulous detailing, and a refined awareness of current media and social events. His figurative paintings capture and transpose visual details from the camera onto canvas with a refined artistic sensibility, creating captivating narratives that blend thematic, compositional, and color mastery.
