SALVADOR TORRES, 1971. Cartagena (Murcia, Spain).

Multidisciplinary artist.

After graduating from the Faculty of Fine Arts of San Carlos in Valencia, he pursued a cycle of studies in Museology, organized by the Department of Audio Visual Communication, Documentation and Art History of the Polytechnic University of Valencia in collaboration with the Valencian Institute of Modern Art.

Since his first individual exhibition in 1996, his works They show us an inner world full of enigmas, meanings, open spaces that take us to other landscapes where different elements build their world.

References to personal and dreamlike elements serve as a common thread for his paintings. and graphic work: in “Pinted Narrations”, held in 2013 at the Museum of Fine Arts of Murcia, these works are conceived based on a certain imaginary based on a series of classic characters deconstructed as a reconsideration of the fundamental archetypes of contemporary painting; To do this, he infiltrates into his work different icons of the academic tradition that are found in the relationship between the imaginary and the real, to which habits of thought give an illusory dimension of perspective, depth and credibility; as in “Theatrvm”, at the Roman Theater Museum in Cartagena in 2015. Thus, his artistic works emanate a timeless halo that surrounds situations, architectures and characters, which, transmuted into symbols, seem to remain fixed in an indeterminate time. His works talk about the presence and absence of these symbols in family and personal memory, as in his “Paradossale e reale” in the Spazio Vitale gallery in Aversa, in 2019; or about the existential cartographic search in Maps and Territories, held in 2023 at the LaLuz Mediterranean Art Gallery in Murcia, Spain and in "Il segno e la narrazione", at the Movimento Aperto gallery in Naples, Italy.< /p>

He has exhibited at art fairs and festivals such as Artexpo (Barcelona, Spain), Wingfield Arts&Music (United Kingdom), Mac21 (Málaga, Spain), Lineart (Ghent, Belgium), La Mar de Músicas ( Cartagena, Spain), Photoencuentros (Murcia, Spain), ArtMadrid (Madrid, Spain), Art Sur (Córdoba, Spain), IV Artist's Book Biennial (Naples, Italy), Biennale del Belvedere di San Leucio 2017, (Caserta, Italy); CIFTIS 2018 International Fair, (Beijing, China); and Giffoni Film Festival (Italy).
