Regina Butkuviene is a contemporary Lithuanian painter with a lifelong passion for art. For the majority of her career, she served as the resident stage set design painter at the National Opera House and Ballet Theatre of Lithuania, where she specialized in creating large-scale painted sets, often reaching dimensions of 800x440 inches (20x11 meters).
In 2012, Butkuviene decided to return to oil painting on smaller surfaces, reigniting her love for this medium and making it her favorite hobby outside her work. Transitioning from large-scale stage designs to smaller paintings was challenging, but attending workshops by artists Barry John Raybould and Viacheslav Korolenkov helped her develop her skills and find her artistic path.
In 2023, Butkuviene relocated to Tyrol, Austria, where she continues her journey as an independent impressionist painter. Her current work primarily focuses on nature scapes and still life with floral motifs, showcasing her skill in capturing the beauty of the natural world in a more intimate setting.
