Artist's Statement
My art is all Ravings and Revelations presented as visualized. The topic of the art is HEART AND SOUL. I never attended any school of art. At 57 my innate power, to conceive and express through brush, was so developed on deep study of philosophy of KHUDI (high-born creation of man) by Dr. Muhammad Iqbal (1877-1938), Poet of The East.
My drowsing led me to many forms of matter undergoing alchemy through life, as the soul does, that could be utilized as allegoristic instances to place such occurrences on canvas, for easy leap of minds to reach conceive. A great creative artist is the one who is able to tell people, what he felt? Since all my art is backed up with strong philosophical themes I will never be painting "Untitled". In my Artwork the language is strong a bit loud and lengthy too.
My experiences, thirsts, complexes, yearnings, pains and uproars all attain their peak before they could move an enriching meaningful discovery. Truly speaking, my starvations opening me the new windows of expression were real blessings. The virtual treasures vested in me remain at a push for outflow asking me go on painting restlessly. It was this pushing that resulted in the first fifty big portraits (website: ) were accomplished in a record time...a hundred days. There is someone sitting inside telling me; the time is short and task...a great deal! I am under a continuous stress to double-up in transferring these ideas to canvas which yet remain unfolded, short of arrangements.
There is no literal interpretation of thoughts, rather pleasure of medium and process of painting transform my palette into an image. Starting a painting is ever an upsetting rush as I throw paint, canvas coming under hard and stiff brush strokes, instead of applying it as planned. This spoils the canvas first causing great bitterness, but sitting a few yards away the same lands me in the valleys and knolls I had envisaged or even better. Doing so I see images change, conflicts resolve, emotions settle, bitterness turn sweet. It has been a discovery, a transformation like alchemy. The play of textures, chemistry of different materials and, in furtherance, such a great acceptance my art, in a very short time, have provided me an exciting challenge, a fascination to discover surface from surface. It's really an intriguing new journey.
Since this all is a translation of philosophy of a great scholar it keeps ocean depth meanings. More in depth you dive, more the pearls falling to your lap. One has to spare a little more of time and attention to benefit from these presents. One will, however, himself feel thirst for a second trip finishing a trip to this "Safari" of "Heart and Soul".
