《新生》系列选择以木炭作为造型创造对象，木头经过第一轮不充分燃烧后成为木炭，木炭二次燃烧释放热量供人们使用，这是一种蜕变与新生。画面中的木炭身体表面生长出许多触手，犹如破土而出的野草，野蛮生长。下方的半燃烧着的粗树枝延伸出许多红色的小枝，同样也寓意着新生与生长，释放出一种生命力，这是面对当下社会，我们作为个体生命该有的修行，同时也要具备破土而出的精神。
