Painting was my first love
It’s how I’m wired. I’ve always seen colors and shapes and composition, no matter what is in my view. I have an innate and compulsive desire to create. Art is my outlet to work through, express, and ultimately understand my emotions and feelings that I experience everyday of my life. It’s like being able to create my own lens to see the world through.
Once I start, I can’t stop
Painting is the strongest pleasure known to me. It’s the rapture I get when I’m working on a piece and I begin to discover what belongs where, what colors to incorporate, where to add texture and am beginning to create an image where I understand and orchestrate how all of those parts are going to come together. The process is soul-filling. I can never seem to calm the urge to draw or paint. It’s a never-ending cycle of pondering, planning, starting, creating, completing, and starting something anew. The ideas never stop.
There are SO MANY beautiful things in the world. There’s also a lot of not so beautiful things. I try to find the uniqueness, color, humor, honesty, grace, humanity and life in all of them. Art can change you and make you see the world in a different way.
Welcome to my world:)
