"Discovering oxidising steel pins laying forgotten and slowly returning to their original mineral form in the earth, when walking along a disused railway line, I was struck by the recurring theme around cycles and patterns occurring in both nature and industry. I noticed the train lines, like arteries, looping around and back to their ‘heart,’ the railway sidings. This work explores the notion of the interconnectedness of all things, objects and people, death and life, and developing new purpose. You can see a steel sphere, or you can see a whole beautiful universe, where everything is connected in some way, and you may understand that one cannot exist without the other.” ...This piece was exhibited at Castaway's Sculpture Awards on the beach 2016.
