D'un point de vue purement esthétique, les tons bruns apportent douceur, chaleur et convivialité, tandis que l'argenterie, par son reflet, augmente la profondeur du regard, comme s'il y avait un deuxième plan à scruter. La pomme et le citron se mettent en valeur l'un l'autre et renforcent leur présence par leurs couleurs complémentaires. Le cadre rond en bois (pas en résine) complète discrètement le charme ancien.

Je suis venu à la peinture bien plus tard que la plupart des artistes professionnels de ma génération.
C'est à l'âge de 10 ans que j'ai découvert la "Nature morte à l'échiquier" de Lubin Baugin dans mon livre d'histoire. Dès lors, j'ai rêvé de devenir artiste peintre, ce que j'ai pu réaliser à l'âge de 38 ans.
Purement autodidacte, j'ai étudié les nombreux manuels de peinture (Cennino Cennini, Xavier de Langlais ou Claude Yvel) ce qui a constitué une bonne base technique que je continue d'approfondir chaque jour.
Travailler la transparence avec le verre ou le reflet du métal restent pour moi, mes challenges préférés, même si j'aime aussi me défier avec d'autres textures comme le tissu, le bois et d'autres végétaux.
Pour cela, j'utilise une technique inspirée des primitifs flamands du XVe siècle qui consiste en la création d'une grisaille recouverte de fines couches de peinture transparente appelées glacis.
Cette technique ancienne, longue à pratiquer, garantit encore aujourd'hui des pièces lumineuses aux couleurs denses très appréciées des collectionneurs.
Mes influences sont très classiques et j'admire tout particulièrement Sébastien Stoskopff, Louise Moillon, Jan Van Eyck, Osias Beert, Pieter Claesz, Willem Kalf et Jean-Siméon Chardin, entre autres.
Aujourd'hui, je suis toujours profondément reconnaissant que plus de 900 collectionneurs dans 39 pays détiennent au moins une de mes 2450 petites œuvres.
