After a busy professional activity, as a Painter-decorator - Upholsterer and Staffer, Gaby resumes his lead pencils and his pastels that he had abandoned to transcribe and pass on to us his passions for drawing and the sea.
Like an architect, he patiently restores to us through his drawings and his pastels a glorious era of the Sailing Navy. He can be recognized by the sitting of his ships on the water, by the breeze that swells his sails, by the authenticity of the details, by the living movement of the waves, by this always iodized impression of freedom.
This has earned him numerous participations and great rewards and distinctions in renowned fairs in France and outside our borders:
Saint-Nazaire, Mer, Azay-le-Rideau, Blois, Le Plessis- Treviso (Salon S.N.B.A.), Rambouillet, Meillant (Salon International du Val d'Or), Bourges (International Salon Art & Painting), Thouars, St-Brévin-les-Pins, Chartres (Salon Painting & Reality), Tinchebray, Cholet, Fougères (Pastel Fair in Brittany), AIEL Fairs at Château de Beauregard – Cellettes, Lamballe (Views of the Arts in Brittany), Feytiat (International Pastel Fair), Vittel (International Fair), La Baule ( Salon de la SLAAB), Sautron (Impressions d'Arts), Cangas (Spain), European Salon of Cantanhede (Portugal), European Salon of Bruges (Belgium)
Selected several times at the prestigious Salon de la Marine, Gaby appears in the National Society of Fine Arts, also received for all of her artistic career:
The Grand Or Diploma of the France World Culture Academy,
The Gold Medal of the French Merit and Devotion Association,
The Gold Medal of the Academic Society of Arts-Sciences-Letters,
The Diploma of Academician of the Academy of Arts & Sciences de la Mer, with which it participates in its "Océanissime" Salons and in various charitable actions.
Illustration of Marine Tales, fantastic, both poetic and philosophical, written by Jean-François ZAPATA, from the Academy of Arts & Marine Sciences: in 2014 “The Fabulous – A Crab Story” and 2016 “The Gates of Hi-Brazil”.
