François Pagé
Se définissant lui même comme un peintre conceptuel, François Pagé est né en 1962 à Tours où il vit actuellement.
Un peintre aux multiples facettes
Diplômé en Histoire de l’Art et titulaire d’un Diplôme National Supérieur d'Expression Plastique obtenu à l’école des Beaux Arts de Tours, François Pagé apprécie . L’artiste, qui déteste le hasard et réfléchi ses toiles jusqu’au cm2 est impossible à définir stylistiquement parlant. Il traverse les univers en luttant pour ne pas être “étiqueté”. Pour lui, l’art est un moyen d’expression qui doit mener à l’émotion, l’interpellation et la remise en question à la fois du spectateur et de l’auteur.
Un cinéaste de la peinture
Avant de se livrer à son travail artistique, François Pagé a travaillé dans le cinéma. Il aborde donc chacune de ses œuvres comme une mise en scène. Il déclare lui même être comme un cinéaste qui élabore son film et ne laisse donc pas place à la spontanéité. Il commence par une esquisse pour la mise en place du sujet puis détermine le chromatisme et l’environnement de celui-ci.
Entre art et poésie
La sensibilité artistique de François Pagé ne s’exprime pas uniquement par la peinture, il rédige également des poèmes. Chaque peinture de l’artiste est d’ailleurs signées d’un poème qu’il a inventé pour cette oeuvre précise. Ces textes font office de titres, qui introduisent le spectateur dans les peintures narratives de François Pagé et renvoient, au contraire de la peinture qui est intemporelle, à l’immédiateté des mots.
