Jean-Maurice SILVAIN voit le jour en 1956 à Versailles, et vit aujourd’hui dans le Sud -Ouest. Après des études de sciences politiques, économiques et sociales à Paris, il entre dans la vie professionnelle, dans le monde de la communication et des médias.
En 2009 il souhaite donner un nouvel élan à sa vie, et fait ses débuts dans la peinture.
Il expose depuis 2012.
Son atelier est situé à Saint Pantaléon dans le LOT, en plein cœur du Quercy blanc.
Sa démarche artistique tourne essentiellement autour des couleurs et des formes, points de départ de chacune de ses toiles.
Ombre et lumière y occupent une place centrale et structurent ses œuvres, les baignant d’une énergie sereine.
Très personnel, son travail nous invite dans des paysages aux dimensions cosmiques, à l’atmosphère harmonieuse et apaisante, salvatrice. Dans un univers tout à la fois géométrique, cubique et onirique, où formes et fulgurances flottent comme en apesanteur dans un bain de lumière.
Un artiste sensible qui nous fait partager son monde foisonnant d’émotions.
