Born in the depths of Zaire, which we had to flee in 1960…. then grew up in Belgium, Ivory Coast, France, Switzerland…I live and work in Carcassonne to this day.
1/training: interior designer, at the Geneva and Toulouse School of Fine Arts
2/training as a decorative and trompe l'oeil painter.
3/ I am also passionate about sewing.
After working for several years for clients in various fields, I wanted to confront the blank page without constraints and without sponsors...and see what I had in my stomach.
I concentrate my research around visual and tactile experimentation, using heterogeneous and even unusual materials and materials (plaster, cement, glue, plants, paper, tar, textiles, etc.) mixed with oil paint or acrylic; I have to learn to domesticate, challenge, confront, explore.... and that takes me into a new world.
it’s all this excitement, this energy that keeps me moving forward. I like projects, challenges, diversity; in my "paintings" I bring together and use my various passions, my experiences, my travels and my professional experiences.
I would define myself as a "tactile painter". I would like people to want to caress my canvas.
I don't want to be locked into a technique, a material, a style or a way of doing things. a tidy box...
It turned out that I mainly painted bodies, faces and looks encountered perhaps during my real or imaginary travels………the look says a lot, the look does not deceive you can catch a brief moment of state of mind, seeing a pupil, capturing the differences in color, the golden sparks, the light in the eyes: stealing a moment of intimacy, then sharing it.
Perhaps it is this complicity that I find when painting between my painting and me; a complicity that I want to offer to those who look at my painting. Only then does it take on its full meaning.
I want to express myself through images to transmit, share, emotions, impressions... what I don't know how to say with words.
Painting to say and be.
