Domenico Asmone was born in Bologna in 1963. He lives in Pistoia, often returning to his hometown of Reggio Calabria. A self-taught artist, he has been painting since the 1980s, starting to participate in extemporaneous competitions at the end of the 1990s, immediately achieving success and recognition. In 2000 he began his research on color, independently deepening his study starting from Itten's treatise.

His works, free compositional subjects of chromatic gestures, investigate the perceptive results of the observer stimulated by chromatic combinations, contrasts, more or less clotted layers of color. The freedom of execution goes hand in hand with the compositional rigor and the balance of the forms. His artistic activity is expressed through drawings, paintings and ceramics. Ceramics offers the opportunity to express the creative force of colors with even greater incisiveness, exploiting the three-dimensionality of sculpture.

Artist Member of the Museo della Permanente in Milan.

From January 2023 with the solo exhibition at the Museo Matalon in Milan he begins the new series of chromatic landscapes with ‘Milan and its colors’. Represented in Italy by numerous galleries, he is present in the television programs of Arte Investimenti (Laboratorio Acca) and Colonna Arte Contemporanea. His works are frequently proposed by the reference galleries in the most important art fairs in Italy and abroad.

Noteworthy are the two solo exhibitions at the Museo Matalon in Milan in 2022 and 2023 organized by Colonna Arte contemporanea. Recently invited to be part of the project Art in the kitchen - artists meet chefs, with the publication of the related volumes (Editoriale Giorgio Mondadori). Chosen by the art critic Giammarco Puntelli for the publications Artist Profiles (ArteIN word), Puntelli Genius' choices The code of the mind meets art (Editoriale Giorgio Mondadori), presented in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.

Reference galleries: Colonna Contemporary Art (Appiano Gentile COMO), Gulli Arte (Savona), Esse&Erre Gallery (Tourist port of ROME), Serart Gallery (Reggio Calabria), Double Art (Catania), Orler Gallery San Martino di Castrozza, Veridieci Gallery (Brescia)

His art studio is in Pistoia in Via Benedetto Croce, 47.
