As a freelance sculptor since 1999, I think I have a few trump cards up my sleeve to add a meaningful social and artistic project to the map of our Occitanie / Pyrenees-Mediterranean region.

With the help of my wife, who has been a textile artist for just as long as I have, I would like to create a place that can bring culture, dialogue, encounters and commitment to one of the major issues of our century: our natural environment and its biodiversity.

We live in a rural area where I think there is a great need for some "education" (accessibility) to art, without visitors having to go through an intimidating door or change their behavioural habits too abruptly.

Since the beginning of our career, we have tried, with and through our art, to make the viewer aware of the importance of art, but also of the importance and respect for nature and the environment.

As part of this project, I want to create a sculpture park that will be open to the public. A place that promotes open-mindedness, dialogue, culture and respect for all (including flora and fauna).

Art and Nature, Art and Sharing, Art and Awareness will be the pillars of the project.

Coming from Belgium (this is from the last century), we have seen that in the northern countries there is a place on every corner where people can go to discover and appreciate art. In the Minervois (Corbières), where we live, you have to look very far to find a park with free access to artworks. A place that can also offer opportunities for other artistic projects, be it dance, music or temporary group exhibitions... A place that can be visited without preconceptions, without necessarily being a "connoisseur". Families, schools and groups of elderly people should find it equally interesting.

We have monumental works of art suitable for outdoor use. We also have indoor soft textile artworks that are complementary yet different. We have the energy and passion to implement such a project, but we lack some of the funding.

Although I prefer to remain independent and loyal to my own cause, "neither god, nor master", I have contacted some institutions and persons, such as

the President of the Occitanie, Pyrénées-Méditerranée region, the Communauté de communes, the DRAC, ... the press.

I'm talking about it on my social networks and I've set up a crowdfunding campaign to solicit the business world for sponsorship as well (tax deduction for the purchase of works of art), because I believe that is where the solution lies: in cooperation with the business community.

But, as everyone knows as well, all support is welcome, including yours!

For which we thank you.

The place will also become an
Insect-Recovery-Centre

A place where insects do not have to "fear" for their lives because of man's actions. Flowers, plants, bushes, trees, healthy soil life, ... will make sure that biodiversity is restored in that small part of the insect world!

More insects = more birds, more amphibians = more natural balance, more BIODIVERSITY = more humanity
