Co Stam has qualified for creating bronze sculptures.
He took courses and practiced himself by assisting sculpturists and casters of bronze.
Bronze casting is based on ancient traditions and lend itself to give expression to the imagination on a very personal way. Especially the handicraft aspects and the special properties of bronze are attractive for him.

Co Stam has not committed himself to a specific style.
He studies the sculptures of the masters and selects the elements which are of interest.
In his sculptures Co is exploring liveness and transparency. Stilling at the right moment of the motion gives in the imagination spirit and life to the sculpure. The expressive power is strengthened by leaving out some details and by deformations.
The sculptures are casted via the so-called " cire perdue technics" whereby during the casting the plaster-mold is lost. So the sculptures are unique.
On request suchlike sculptures could be created.
By mutual arrangement a bronze sculpture could be created along the lines of ideas of the client.
The sculptures are casted by bronze foundry " De Hooischuur" at Alkmaar, Holland.
