Cláudia Barata is a Brazilian artist specializing in chalk pastels and charcoal. Self-taught, since he was a child he copied drawings from the art books that filled the shelves at home using his mother's eye pencil, and was enchanted by the lines and smudges. As an adult, she ventured into acrylic painting, painting landscapes, interiors, still lifes and flowers. She studied the great masters on her own, but those who fascinated her most were the Impressionists. And it was when, through the work of Edgar Degas, that she discovered and became enchanted with pastel. But it wasn't until about ten years later that she acquired her first box of chalk pastels. Throughout her life she rescued and had more than forty dogs and twenty cats, and so it was natural that, when she started with pastel, they became her main reference in her first studies, and later for the execution of her own works. . Portraying them was essential for her to develop her own style, where lightness and spontaneous detail meet through the experience of colors on her fingers. Eu comecei no acrílico em 99, mas depois que descobri o pastel me foquei somente nessa mídia, pq a identificação foi total. Sucesso pra vc também!
