Bertrand Godefroy, a sculptor and draftsman hailing from France, discovered his passion for the arts at a young age while residing in Switzerland. His journey began with academic drawing, which laid the foundation for his artistic pursuits.
Seeking to further his skills, Bertrand pursued formal artistic education at Lyon’s Ecole Emile Cohl, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in draftsmanship. It was during his studies here that he found himself drawn to sculpture as his primary interest.
To deepen his understanding of sculpting techniques, Bertrand embarked on an internship at Paris’ Atelier Promethée, specializing in mold making and casting. This experience cemented his decision to pursue sculpting as a career.
Continuing his artistic development, Bertrand enrolled in the sculpture program at the esteemed Florence Academy of Art, graduating and now sharing his knowledge as a principal drawing instructor.
My artistic exploration is rooted in a deep appreciation for the elegance of the human form. I am dedicated to capturing its natural beauty with sincerity and depth.
Within my artistic journey, I merge this commitment with my personal perspective and keen sensitivity. Through careful observation and introspection, I aim not only to depict outward appearances but also to convey the underlying emotions and concepts.
Each stroke, every contour, and the deliberate arrangement of elements in my work are crafted to transcend mere representation. They serve as a means to translate the intangible aspects of human experience into visual narratives.
In this way, my creations serve as reflections of the intricate tapestry of life, offering viewers a glimpse into the complexity and richness of our shared existence.
