Benjamin Debayle, a French painter born in 1983, pursued studies in multimedia graphics and Plastic Art at the Regional School of Fine Arts in Saint-Étienne. In 2008, he relocated to Strasbourg, where he founded "KHAT Faktory," a creative micro-agency that explored various disciplines, including graphics, illustration, animation, and music. His artistic journey gradually led him into urban painting, influenced by Strasbourg's Street Art scene. Adopting "KHAT" as his pseudonym, painting became his primary medium of expression. His early work, characterized by strange and mysterious themes, featured organic patterns, animals, and plants. Debayle officially sold his first paintings in 2010.
After participating in numerous group exhibitions and urban art events across France and Europe, Debayle moved to Lyon in 2015, continuing his career as a painter and presenting his evolving work internationally. A decisive shift in his artistic approach occurred in 2022 when he settled in the countryside. Under his real name, Benjamin Debayle, he focused on contemporary painting, inspired by nature's energy, matter, and spiritual beauty. His exploration of light and texture through the interplay of color and black reflects his deepening interest in the artistic fusion of science, esotericism, and poetry.
