Biography


Antonino Cammarata was born in Augusta on August 6, 1962 where he lives and paints after attending the State Institute of State ;Art in Syracuse.

Like the masters of the Renaissance for some years he worked in the “workshop” of the Master Tommaselli in Syracuse where appropriate the different painting techniques in search of his journey artistic which in 1985 led him to focus on his favorite theme: landscape.

Hard working of the late naturalist, Antonino Cammarata dedicated to the study of the Sicilian landscape, the colors of his country, the light of his land with one goal: to make the Sicilian countryside all of Italy.

The artistic sensitivity of the Master pushes him to work tirelessly to filter and fix on the dozens of canvas details that make its landscapes unique.

majestic olive trees, powerful carob trees, expanses of golden shade made, framed by red poppies, from prickly pears accompany the peasants’ hovels; colorful fishing boats beached in front of the fishermen's houses.

The exhibitions led him to exhibit in many Italian cities and to participate in numerous painting competitions, winning several first prizes; the 1991 exhibition at the 'Bidart' Fair; of Bergamo International Art confirm the artistic value of this young maestro.

The year 2002 brings the beautiful paintings of the master Antonino Cammarata in Germany for SLB Gallery (Offenbach) and in the United States at Artitaly Gallery in New York, where the artist is invited to exhibit, even the following year.

The 23rd edition of Artexpo of New York in 2003 welcomes his works, while the style of the painter begins to change to accommodate new themes and techniques.

In fact, the painter, now appreciated professional, invented a style called Hug Art.


THE ART HUG paintings are executed in oil on canvas by a spatula using the technique for the first mediums then passing to the use of brushes in the realization of the subjects.

This alternation and fusion of techniques, so distant and different from each other, gives the finished painting a new look, very pleasant and airy finitude.
