«The Scarecrow» is an allegory of man’s power and will. The scarecrow in the picture personifies the ruler of the field.
The scarecrow’s prototype was the iconic and extravagant visual artist Vincent van Gogh, the leading figure of
post-impressionism, the genius «madman,» the one who stressed the advantages of the open mind. The Scarecrow» shows how the red-haired master fuses with the mysterious wings of nature. The
landscape around the figure is represented as an abstract map. This is the zone of creativity, protected from anything unwanted or useless.
The author’s message is that the necessity of an inner «scarecrow zone» is equal for all because we desire comfortable conditions for our senses to interact with the external world directly, using all the potential of power on the way to love and understanding.
