Vijftien verhalen die de gruwel van slavernij afbeelden. De verhalen zijn gegroepeerd in drie series van vijf verhalen:
1. Zwarte geschiedenis. De vergeten pagina's die eeuwenlang verborgen zijn gehouden, maar nu aan het licht komen.
2. De Opstand. De bitterzoete smaak van vrijheid.
3. Moderne Slavernij. Wat hebben we geleerd?
