I am very inspired by the theme of childhood and growing up. When the world of imagination grows into reality and makes everything around a little more magical and unusual. Children are always spontaneous and passionate about something. They are interesting to watch.

In my works I often depict the world through children.

This work depicts a story about a carefree and bright childhood, when everything is interesting and it is very easy to find adventure. A girl and her four-legged friend looked into a vintage fan workshop. To our adult eyes it seems like nothing special, but for them it is a real adventure that only a person with the same lively and adventurous spirit can notice and share.

The work was done with pen, ink and liner on coated paper. Around the image, blank paper of 1 cm is left on each side for ease of placement in a passe-partout or frame without disturbing the composition.

Technic Drawing

Drawing is a technique of visual representation on a flat support. The term "drawing" designates both the action of drawing, the resulting graphic work, and the shape of any object. It is also a representation on a surface of the shape (and possibly the light and shadow values) of an object or figure, rather than their color. There are a large number of drawing techniques: “Linear drawing” represents objects by their outlines, edges and some characteristic lines; beyond this limit, the drawing develops by representing the volume by shadows, often by means of hatching, incorporates colors, and joins, without clear transition, the painting.

Anastasiia Potelova

Portugal

Anastasiia Potelova, born in 1986 in Vologda, Russia, currently lives and works in Porto, Portugal. An avid artist and traveler, she received her academic training at the School of Fine Arts in Yaroslavl, Russia, from 2016 to 2019. Since her early days, Potelova has explored various mediums, including oil on paper, pencil, acrylic, ink, watercolor, encaustic, graphite, and oil on board. Her eclectic style encompasses still life, illustration, sketching, and impressionism, reflecting her ability to capture beauty in different forms.

Her artistic journey is marked by a great curiosity and a deep love for travel, which largely influence her work. Potelova draws inspiration from the simplest aspects of everyday life, whether it is a flower blooming on a vacant lot or boxes beautifully arranged in a trash can. Nature, in all its manifestations, energizes her and encourages her to explore new horizons, which is reflected in her dynamic and expressive work.

Preferring easily transportable materials like watercolor and oil pastels, Potelova adopts a lively and fast technique, often without much detail. This approach allows her to capture the essence of the moment with great spontaneity. Her artistic philosophy is one of shared creation. For her, art is a form of continuous construction, and she firmly believes in sharing her creations with the world beyond geographical boundaries.
