Presentation:

Born on March 18, 1970 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to very modest parents, Zomo has been drawing since he was very young.

When his mother died in 1985, he took refuge in painting and was introduced by the painter Rony Ottinot who was able to perceive his talent.

Jean Pierre Richard (Zomo) has a humorous style that reflects the creative personality of this artist.

Highly energetic, we realize through his exhibitions that his works are articulated around a unique style, whose features reflect a great polychromatic quality and a great control of perspective. In addition, they are characterized by the fusion of landscape, humor, and a decisive touch.

In some of his works we find a three-dimensional look, the "Brico-art" of which he is the only Haitian painter gifted with this style.

A complete artist:

Behind the shy and humble man, hides a true contemporary artist capable of painting landscapes with classicism, but who also shows himself to be a master of original and personal works.

Zomo is above all a perfectionist, he has an eye for the small detail, the one that almost no one notices but which completes the drawing so well.

Aesthetic and significant works:

The artist seems to play on two domains at once; an aesthetic work and the will to convey a precise idea, a message.

Most of his works carry a deep meaning and his roots are at the heart of his inspiration.

He, whose "Brico-art" is one of his specialties, expresses his emotions on the canvas with a refreshing creativity, a treat for lovers of novelties.

Chantal de Campos.
