Biography
Ziesook You works in a variety of mediums, including photography, video, installation, and painting. She creates one-of-a-kind floral portraits by experimenting with different media and combining fresh and dried flowers. She creates an image that is a cross between photography and painting.
She wants the viewer's attention to be drawn to the flowers rather than the model's face. She wishes for the human form to vanish and be replaced by a human vase. It's as if the flowers and people have become inextricably linked.
Ziesook You is a South Korean native. She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Seoul Women's University. She now works and lives in Dallas (USA). She has shown her work in Korea, Australia, Japan, France, and the United States. She has won numerous awards, including first place in Photography at Artrugeous (Frisco's Visual Arts Guild).
