Zhou Yudan, born in 1997 in Songjiang, a suburb of Shanghai, discovered his passion for painting at a very young age. After completing his baccalaureate, he pursued his studies at Shanghai Normal University, where he earned both a master's degree and a doctorate under the guidance of renowned professors. Currently, Zhou works as a fine arts teacher at a high school in Shanghai.
In recent years, Zhou has gained recognition for his art, participating in numerous exhibitions worldwide. Notable achievements include the 2024 Medusa La Gorgone exhibition at Forte Monte Ricco in Pieve di Cadore, as well as receiving the Silver Prize and Merit Award at the 2nd Hong Kong Youth Arts Awards. He also earned a Merit Award at the first Trace - Source Art Exhibition and won the Silver Prize at the Canadian International Landscape Competition.
Zhou's accolades from 2023 include being a finalist in the Titian International Portrait and Sculpture Competition and receiving the Best Art Award and fourth place in the Painting Category at the 13th Nature Online Art Competition in the USA. In 2022, he received an Honorable Mention, Best of Show, and Talent Award at the American International Portrait Painting Selection Art Exhibition, as well as an Honorable Mention at the Fourth American International Still Life Competition. Additionally, he was a finalist in the Velasquez Painting and Sculpture Competition.
In 2021, Zhou was a finalist in the Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China, 11th Shanghai Art Exhibition. He also won First Prize at the Annual Exhibition of Master Reports at Shanghai Normal University and was a finalist in the Tomorrow is Within Reach Painting Competition of the Macao Bay Area Young Artists Program, along with another finalist spot at the Velasquez Painting and Sculpture Competition.
