Wolfgang Uhlig was born in Darmstadt, grew up in Berlin and now lives and works in the Algarve in Portugal. After studying art education at the University of Frankfurt am Main, he stayed in the Hessian metropolis. He has been working there as a freelance photographer since 1992. Otherwise little is known about the “master of wanderlust”. His photos speak for themselves. By playing around with the search for a motif, he observes situations and tries to imagine them “blurred”. The resulting interlocking of the objects results in a progression of colors and contrasts. Wolfgang Uhlig has been able to achieve great results with this technique since 1986/87, which he still uses today. For him, photography is a contemporary medium of communication that does not depict reality, but rather shows the creation of a world of its own.
