This painting was inspired by the experience of growth and all that It brings. Growth can cause internal and external changes that may result in feelings of discomfort and confusion, and I aimed to create a piece that displays these themes. This painting illustrates an abstract figure in a tightly enclosed space that is causing physical discomfort which can be seen within the body language and facial expressions. While I was creating this painting, my perspective on this experience changed. Confusion turned into clarity and understanding that tight spaces can be caused by growth, resulting in feelings of extreme discomfort, and I think that these are things that we can all relate to in one way or another.
