Was born in Novohrad-Volynskyi of Zhytomyr region (Ukraine) in 1951.
Studied in Kyiv Art College. In 1978 graduated from Lviv Art Academy.
Participated in many exhibitions, his works are in private and museum collections of Poland, Canada, USA, Belorussia and Lithuania. He works in the field of decorative sculpture plastic and easel painting. His sculptures are impressive for their form sophistication, having something in common with the world of Alexander Archipenko, continuing traditions of modern Ukrainian sculpture. In paintings Volodymyr Kanarskyi stays faithful for Lviv decorative school, finds own colour spectrum and paints his world in pastel silence of world view. The artist considers sculpture as an accent of the interior, like compensative factor, like the basis of harmony, which beautify human existence.
