Vadim Konopkin was born on July 26, 1956, in Ryazan.
He graduated from Ryazan Art College and Moscow State University of Printing Arts, Faculty of Graphic Arts Design.
He worked for various publishing houses («Fiction», «Young Guard», «Soviet Writer»).
There were published more than 200 books of Russian, Soviet and Foreigners writers with his illustrations.
He illustrated books written by Aleksandr Kuprin, Vladimir Nabokov, Ivan Bunin, Anton Chekhov, Nadezhda Teffi, Maxim Gorky, Ivan Shmelyov, Mikhail Bulgakov, Andrei Platonov, Vasily Shukshin, Yevgeny Zamyatin, Valentin Rasputin, Savva Dangulov, Honore de Balzac, Lao She and others.
.His exhibitions were in Sofia (Bulgaria), Paris, Bressuire (France), Segovia, Santa Cristina d’Aro, Castell de Benedormiens, Sant Antoni de Calonge (Spain), Moscow, Ryazan (Russia).

Окончил Рязанское художественное училище, Московский полиграфический институт, отделение книжной графики.
Работал в издательствах «Художественная литература», «Молодая гвардия», «Советский писатель».
Иллюстрировал произведения:
Куприна, Набокова, Бунина, Чехова, Теффи, Горького, Шмелева, Булгакова, Платонова, Шукшина, Замятина, Распутина, Дангулова, Ерофеева, Бальзака, Лао Ше и других.
Член СХ России с 1990 г.
Выставки в Софии, Париже, Bresuire (Франция), Segovia, Santa Cristina d, Aro, Castell de Benedormiens, Sant Antoni de Calonge (Испания), Москве, Рязани.
